Introduction. This Novel Study has been designed as an introduction to Grade 6 novel studies and will set the pattern for subsequent novel studies in Grade 6 and 7. It has academic as well as experiential components in it.
In order to accommodate different leaning styles and strengths it has basic, mainstream and advance activities and work components labeled from A to F, A being the most open ended and F being the most academically advanced.
It can be completed over a 7 week period and has multiple means of assessment through art, vocabulary, comprehension and synthesis as well as testing on plot, structure of novels, major events and discussion of issues and themes raised in the book. See Teacher Page for tests and keys.
