An Animal and its
"Food Web"

Animals interact with the plants and animals in its habitat. It relies on other organisms, and other organisms rely on it. When a species is taken out of its habitat, it can have significant consequences.

Pick an animal.

1. Food - Find out what it relies on for food.

2. Predators - Find out what animals rely on it for food.

3. Habitat - Find out what kind of habitat it requires for a good life.

4. Habitat Threats - Find out what threats there are to its habitat.

5. Write a report in your own words on what you have learned. Write it so a child in grade four or five would understand it. Explain any "technical" words you must use in a glossary or footnote. Use the four topics above to organize your information. Be prepared to read it out to the class and answer questions.

Marking based on the amount and quality of thought put into your work, originality, presentation (looks, proofreading, etc.), and a certain amount of creativity.
